‘Why would you need a Personal Stylist?’

You can shopping all by yourself! Why would you hire me?

This is why…

When you go shopping alone, it’s you and the Sales Associate. More times than not, they work on commission or have a “quota” to meet in Sales for the store. They will (pretty much) like EVERYTHING that you try on! They need the numbers to look good for the store’s sales.

Instead of having a Sales Associate help you, you decide to bring a Friend or Family Member instead. When you ask their opinion on different items, they don’t want to offend you, so they will tell you how wonderful you look. They will give you all the compliments that you seek.

Recently, I saw a post on Facebook that made me shake my head.

A woman posted a selfie taken in front of a dressing room mirror. She was wearing a dress that was too tight for her and the hemline was too short. (This is my professional opinion.)

Did I comment on it? No. Why? Because she was only looking for validation from her friends. She was smiling and had put it on Social Media for everyone to see. She was clearly going to buy it and it made her feel good. If she had gone up one more size, it might have made a difference in fit and hem length.

Unfortunately, because she didn’t ask for an opinion from a Professional Stylist, she won’t have the look that will get her an honest ‘thumbs up’ when she asks.

One more thing to consider as your friends give you their feedback….Do you admire their Personal Style?

This is another aspect to consider if you’re trying to elevate your look. Does your Friend/Family Member that you’re shopping with wear the same style as you currently do? If so, your style is going to stay the same.

If you really want to know that what you’re buying is worth the money because you’ll look amazing, hire me!
